Keep scrolling as we answer your burning questions about the bottle that brings blondes, brunettes, and redheads the perfect sun-kissed hue all year long, and reveal some omg-inducing before and after photos of manes blessed by Sun of a Beach.
What hair types is it good for?
Any and every hair type can use Sun of a Beach to lighten and brighten existing highlights, or add a touch of sunshine to virgin hair.
What can I expect my color to look like?
Blondes will brighten and lighten 2-4 shades while brunettes will lighten to a coppery bronze. Redheads will lighten from red to golden strawberry.
How do I use it?
Spritz on clean, towel-dried hair then wash hands after application. Step into the sun to activate and bam! To increase the effect, repeat daily until your desired result is achieved.
Is this activated by sun exposure only, or will the heat from my blow dryer work as well?
Both! No sun where you live? No problem. Simply go over the sprayed areas with your blow dryer on medium heat to activate the one-of-a-kind lemon and coconut water formula.
How long will it take to see results?
It depends on your hair color. Some may see results after one use while others may see results after a few times. To increase the effect, repeat daily until your desired shade is achieved.
Is it safe to use on dyed hair?
Yes, it is safe to use on dyed hair! For lighter hair, Sun of a Beach will lighten the strands 2-4 shades, and for darker hair it will lighten strands to a coppery bronze.
Can you use it on color-treated, highlighted hair too?
Yup! It will lighten and brighten existing highlights, and will brighten brown or red hair color to a coppery bronze (not orange!). Be sure to follow up with a treatment product afterwards, like OUAI Leave In Conditioner or Treatment Masque, as color-treated hair tends to be on the drier side.
What does it smell like?
Basically, a trip to Bora Bora. Sun of a Beach is infused with a new OUAI fragrance OUAI N°6, a blend of Fijian coconut and pineapple. Mmm.
Is there hydrogen peroxide in this?
Yes, in a small amount, coupled with our key ingredient blend of lemon and pineapple juice to lighten hair naturally and coconut water to nourish strands.
T-1 day until Sun of a Beach drops!
