Leave it to Morgan Wilson to plan a trip to Nashville, Tennessee centered around a Drake concert. Ahead, the Canada-based content creator shares her insider's guide to Music City including a restaurant with a very memorable view, a skincare bar where you can create custom face oils while sipping on bubbly, and more must-visit places for Nashville newbies.
Nashville has always been a destination on my travel bucket list. The live music, cowboy boots, and Southern cooking, I had to experience the energy of this city. When my favourite artist Drake was set to perform in Nashville, it was a no-brainer that I travel to music city for the trip of a lifetime.
My partner in crime and I, my sister Nicole Wilson (@ncolwilson), hopped on a flight to Nashville where we stayed in the cutest Airbnb. Located in Hillsboro Village, we were surrounded by a collection of shops, boutiques, and restaurants, which included our favorite lunch spot Biscuit Love. The fall weather was perfect for strolls through the quaint neighbourhood, which eventually turned into scooter rides using Birds (@bird, a dockless scooter-share company, check them out!).

I like to research local blog pages and influencer accounts to find the coolest places when visiting a new city. I loved the Instagram pages @nashvilletn and @thenashvilleguide to find the best food and drink locations. I also recommend staying in an Airbnb, as they are spacious and more affordable than staying in a fancy hotel close to downtown.
For Nashville, I made sure to pack lots of denim and cool boots that could be versatile from day to night. The city has a laid back feel, so make sure to leave your sequins at home and pack those cute denim shorts and leather jacket for a night on the town.
Bird was definitely my favourite mode of transportation while in Nashville. But if you have to travel a considerable distance, you’re best to hop in an Uber and head to your next destination. Many of the coolest neighbourhoods in Nashville, including The Gulch, East Nashville, and 12South, are all relatively close in proximity to each other, so just make sure to leave a bit early around peak traffic times and you’ll be good to go.
The food in Nashville is arguably the best part of the city. Home to endless Southern cooking restaurants, hot chicken and mouth-watering biscuits, this city has some of the best cuisine the country has to offer. One of my favorite spots was the legendary Hattie B’s, which is famous for its hot chicken and line-ups that wrap around the street corner (my sister and I waited about 30 minutes, and it was absolutely worth it). Another stand out was the newly opened Bourbon Steak, located on the top floor of the JW Marriot. With 360-degree views of the Nashville skyline, this steakhouse is the perfect spot to grab a delicious meal, or a drink at their rooftop bar.
10AM Breakfast at Café Rose (order the Rose Latte and Egg Bowl, absolutely to die for!).
11AM Found the cutest skincare store called Lemon Laine and made our own custom face oils (with champagne—talk about a beauty lover's dream).
12:30PM Lunch at Biscuit Love. You have to try their Bonuts, perfect for sharing.
3PM Shopping at cute vintage shops in 12South Neighbourhood.
7PM Dinner at Bourbon Steak House. Instead of bread before dinner, they bring out three types of fries with three dipping sauces…need I say more?
10PM Went to honky-tonk on Nashville’s famous Broadway, a street that hosts countless bars and the best live music I have ever experienced.
10AM Grabbed a quick latte at the coolest coffee shop called Barista Parlour. Think local coffee in an industrial space featuring art and motorcycles.
11AM Tracked down Amelia’s Flower Truck, the cutest flower shop that travels everyday around Nashville plus a beautiful photo op.
1PM Lunch at the famous Hattie B’s where the fried chicken was EPIC.
3PM Travel to outskirts of Nashville to Arrington Vineyards.
6PM Dinner at House of Cards, a unique restaurant featuring a secret entrance and magicians inside that perform throughout the night.
9PM Drake and Migos Concert! Best night ever.
