This organization’s goal is to end suicide among lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer & questioning young people.

WHAT THEY DO

The nonprofit operates several programs to help prevent and respond to the public health crisis of suicide among LGBTQ+ young people, including 24/7 free crisis services, innovative research, advocacy, public education, and peer support.

 

Here are some of the OUAIs your support helps:

  • Advocate against anti-LGBTQ+ laws and work with policymakers to pass legislation to protect LGBTQ+ youth
  • Connect LGBTQ+ peers through TrevorSpace, our safe space social networking site
  • Conduct original research to capture the unique experiences of LGBTQ+ young people

The Los Angeles LGBT Center is working to build a better world, a world in which LGBT people can be healthy, equal, and complete members of society.

WHAT THEY DO

The Center's nearly 800 employees provide services for more LGBT people than any other organization in the world, offering programs, services, and global advocacy that span four broad categories: Health, Social Services and Housing, Culture and Education, Leadership and Advocacy.

 

Here are some of the OUAIs your support helps:

  • $10 Provides a full day of meals for homeless youth
  • $25 Gives access to a month’s worth of support groups for a senior
  • $50 Offers a full day of services for one young person at our youth center
  • $100 Supplies comprehensive HIV/STD testing & counseling for one client
