HOW TO USE

•Use DETOX SHAMPOO whenever a deeper cleanse is needed. 
•Thoroughly wet hair from roots to ends with lukewarm water. Squeeze out excess moisture.
•Lather a quarter size amount  in hands.
•Part hair using fingers and apply as close to the scalp as possible. 
•Let sit for 1 to 3 minutes.  
•Rinse. Squeeze out excess moisture before applying conditioner. 
•Rinse with cold water to close the hair cuticle and add shine.

Good to Know

  • Detox your OUAI by pairing it with your favorite hair shampoo 1-2x a week as a deep cleansing clarifying treatment or use in place of your main shampoo for more oily hair types as needed!

WHEN TO USE DETOX SHAMPOO:

  • Use DETOX SHAMPOO when your hair and scalp feel like it needs a reset (if your scalp feels oily, hair is looking dull, curls have lost their shape & bounce). 
  • Apply in place of or before using your favorite hair shampoo for the best cleanse.

FOR DRY HAIR TYPES:

  • To prevent stripping your scalp from its natural oils or feeling too dry, we suggest starting off with 1 wash a week and gradually using more as needed.

FOR OILY HAIR TYPES: 

  • Detox a-OUAI by pairing it with your favorite hair shampoo 1-2x a week as a deep cleansing clarifying treatment or use in place of your main shampoo as needed!

    It's important to do what feels best for your hair. Everyone’s cleansing routine is different. Detox Shampoo helps to remove product buildup and hard water deposits. Use it when you feel like you need a deeper cleanse.
  • WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SCALP & BODY SCRUB AND DETOX SHAMPOO?
    Scalp & Body Scrub exfoliates using sugar, a pro-probiotic blend, and coconut oil. It provides deep moisturization while calming dryness and itchiness of the scalp and body. Detox Shampoo has a deeper cleanse and removes buildup/heavy metals from the entire head. Hair and scalp feel renewed and refreshed.

    You can use Detox Shampoo in place of your regular shampoo. Start by brushing your hair before getting in the shower. This will remove any tangles, reduce the amount of hair going down the drain, and stimulate the scalp. Wet hair in shower. Start with a quarter-size amount of Detox Shampoo and apply to wet hair. Focus application specifically on scalp, back of head, and neck area. Follow up with your favorite OUAI conditioner or treatment masque. Finish with our Leave In Conditioner and you’re ready to style!

Hi Marjery, Absolutely! Men can use all of our styling and care products, shampoo and conditioner (including Detox Shampoo). It lifts away product residue and buildup, deeply cleanses hair and scalp leaving hair refreshed. It also balances the scalp and aids in natural detoxification process.
Hi, can I use this shampoo 3tines per week?? I have dark hair.
Most commonly, we see our DETOX Shampoo used in place of regular shampoo 1-2 times a week. However, we have lots of members in our OUAI community (and employees) who use DETOX as their regular every day shampoo. It's totally customizable to how you feel it works best for your hair!
Can I use Ouai detox shampoo with Great Lengths micro extensions?
All of our products (including our Detox Shampoo) are extension-safe for human hair, synthetic, combo extensions, and wigs. This includes color-treated alternative hair. OUAI products are always free of sulfates, parabens, and phthalates. However, we always recommend speaking with your hair stylist directly for additional care instructions that are tailored to your specific needs.
Can I use this on Keratin treated hair?
Thanks for reaching out! All of our products, including our shampoos and conditioners, are safe for keratin-treated hair. As always, it's best to consult with your stylist before starting any new products after a Keratin treatment!
Is this shampoo good to remove rust and mineral build up in hair from hard water?
Great question! You can absolutely use Detox Shampoo to try to work out some of this environmental buildup in your hair. The chelating ingredients helps to remove deposits in hard water that can cause color fading and damage. Generally we recommend usage one 1x a week, particularly if hair is feeling dry or brittle. That being said, it is totally safe to use daily, especially if you feel it is really warranted!
