To celebrate the launch of OUAI Super Dry Shampoo—our most oil-absorbing formula yet—we’ve partnered with Period.org, donating $20,000 to their Menstrual Movement. A global non-profit founded in 2014 by high school students Nadya Okamoto and Vincent Forand, PERIOD aims to help end period stigma and poverty through service, education, and advocacy.
PERIOD’s ultimate goal: pass local legislation to get products in school restrooms and repeal the tampon tax in 34 states where it still remains. To date, PERIOD has addressed over 400,000 periods through product distribution to menstruators in need, and registered almost 250 campus chapters at universities and high schools around the United States and abroad.
As staunch supporters of menstrual equialitty for all, OUAI is proud to give back to an organization that amplifies the voices of women and girls in need of period products. Through product distribution and a growing network of chapters, PERIOD is redefining the culture around periods and getting people to talk about their flows like they’re NBD—and we’re so here for it.
To spread the word about PERIOD’s mission to stop period shaming, OUAI organized a period packing party and will be dropping off a heavy flow of hygiene kits to shelters around Los Angeles. Join us and PERIOD in the global fight for women’s fundamental right to equitable access to menstrual hygiene. Keep reading to find out how you can join the Menstrual Movement.
