Lazy with your locks? You've come to the right place. The New York-living founder of The Brunettwork Diary, Charlene Truong, is showing how she styles her dirty hair using accessories for three different occasions—no heat tools required.
I'm Vietnamese so my hair is naturally on the thicker side, pin straight, and silky. I'm trying to grow my hair out so right now my hair length is about four inches below my shoulders. I guess you can say I have medium-length hair. When I go to my hairdresser, I ask for long layers with pieces that frame the face. Here I’m going to show you three difference lazy girl hairstyles I like to do using accessories. For all three hair styles, I'm starting with one-day old curled hair.
1. European Girl Updo
The vibe behind this hairstyle is the lazy effortless European girls that naturally have wavy hair who just throw it up with a clip and look to die for! I am using a silver hair clip from Amazon, inspired by the Alexander Wang fashion show last year.
Starting with day old hair, since we are lazy girls here, part your hair down the middle and brush hair out with a boar bristle brush. Smooth over baby hairs with OUAI Finishing Crème, and gather into a low pony tail with elastics. Twist ponytail up and bring the end of the ponytail back down--insert the hair clip over your twisted hair. Pull out hairs around your ears/face to frame.
2. Model Off-Duty
The inspiration behind this hairstyle is the model-off-duty look. Super sleek, simple, and fool-proof. Like the first hairstyle, starting with day-old hair, part your hair down the middle and brush hair out with a boar bristle brush. Spray OUAI Hair & Body Shine Mist at the ends to add shine. Smooth over baby hairs with OUAI Finishing Crème, and gather/secure into a low pony tail with elastics. Twist pony tail into a low bun and secure with two elastics. Next take your boar bristle brush and spray some OUAI Volumizing Hair Spray onto brush. Brush over your hair to smooth and ensure the hair is nice and sleek. Finish off the look by spray more OUAI Volumizing Hair Spray all over for all day hold.
3. Going Somewhere
This hairstyle is good for when you want to look like you actually did your hair, but in reality, this was done in under five minutes! Starting with day-old curled hair (you can touch up some curls if you have time), brush hair with a boar bristle brush and part hair down the middle. Apply a light amount of OUAI Hair & Body Shine Mist at the ends and brush out. Smooth a small amount of OUAI Finishing Crème to smooth out baby hairs. Insert two jewel clips on one side of your head for a girly, classy look.
