The beauty world witnessed a bevy of blunt bobs last fall and while the one-length trend still has leverage, this season it's all about added layers. Just take it from Jen Atkin on the top hair trends to follow in the sweater-weather months to come including a Cameron Diaz-inspired cut, a zero-effort upgrade for updos, the perfect accessories, and more fall hair trends that get her stamp of approval.
1. Added Layers
I’ve been drawing a lot of inspo from the 90’s. Natalie Imbruglia’s short haircut in her ’Torn’ music video and Cameron Diaz’s shoulder-length hair with added layers is what I think we might be seeing more of this season. As for longer cuts, again, speaking to the 90’s vibe is Pamela Anderson’s hair. I’ve been really into the messy ponytails she used to rock. I think the 90’s hair trend is still going strong for this season. I’m excited to see all the looks everyone’s going to recreate!
2. Wispy Bangs
I think wispy bangs will be making a comeback this fall! For a wispy bang look, prep with OUAI Wave Spray on damp hair and blow dry forward with a medium-sized round brush. Once almost dry, part down the middle (or where you want your part to be) and blow dry each small section with round brush in that direction. Run your fingers through and finish. Pair the look with a hat from Gladys Tamez Millinery which you can find them at Kirna Zabête.
Tendrils are here to stay this fall! The fun thing about tendrils is you can just embrace your natural texture. They’re meant to look like you mistakenly left some pieces out of your pony/bun. If you need to add some moisture, use OUAI Finishing Crème on some pieces. For a natural finish, scrunch with OUAI Air Dry Foam.
4. Bobby Pins
Bobby pins with little details are in this season. The fall Jen Atkin Chloe + Isabel Collection just dropped and we’ve got a number of pins with pearls and studs on them. You can add them to a bun, for an added pop, or a side part.
Scrunchies are here to stay for fall! Check out the ones from Jen Atkin Chloe + Isabel I wear a black one everyday because they’re so easy and can pull together any pony/bun.
