Ever wonder where Jen Atkin gets hair inspo for her A-list clients from? Let's just say 90's babes Claudia Schiffer and Cindy Crawford dominate our founder's mood boards. Recently, Jen carried out the vintage, voluminous texture of her dreams on OUAI Crush Elle Ferguson, and lucky for us, filmed the entire tutorial on her YouTube. Here we break down that bombshell texture with Jen's pro tips on executing the look that calls for our favorite underrated hair tool: velcro rollers. Read on to see what size curling iron and OUAI products you'll need to get the look.

  1. Prep damp hair with the OUAI Treatment Masque (now in a tube!); rinse then blow dry the hair smooth with the Dyson Airwrap Styler
  2. Using the Hot Tools 1.25" 24K Gold Marcel Iron/Wand, pass the iron through 1" sections (pro tip: curl from the bottom then roll up for that 90’s brushed effect)
  3. After curling each section, apply rollers and wait 5-10 minutes before removing
  4. Shake out the curls with your fingers then spray OUAI Texturizing Hair Spray all over for lived-in texture, and OUAI Volumizing Hair Spray at the crown for mega-volume
  5. With the Sheila Stotts Application Brush, back brush the hair at the crown for extra body
  6. Rub a dime-sized amount of OUAI Matte Pomade between your fingers to emulsify then pull half the hair up using distance from your eye/cheekbone to your crown as a guide
  7. Wrap a clip-in hair extension around the base of the half-up ponytail to conceal the hair tie
  8. Apply 2 pumps of OUAI Rose Hair & Body Oil on ends for shine
